Allison Homes promotes Karl Edwards to lead East Midlands region
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Karl Edwards from Operations Director to Managing Director for our East Midlands region, marking an exciting milestone in our growth journey.
Karl, who grew up in Nottingham, brings over 25 years of land and development experience to the role. Since joining Allison Homes nearly three years ago, he has played a key role in establishing our presence in the East Midlands, helping to build a strong land pipeline and launch our regional headquarters at Willow Farm Business Park in Castle Donington.
Having held senior positions at Gladman, Chase Homes, Rippon Homes and Bryant/Taylor Wimpey, Karl blends strategic leadership with hands-on industry knowledge. His journey began on-site as a joiner before he progressed to Site Manager at Barratt Homes East Midlands, giving him a unique understanding of both the operational and commercial sides of housebuilding.
Under Karl’s leadership, the regional team has expanded from a single employee to 19, with further hires underway across planning, commercial, technical and sales roles. Our East Midlands region has also secured seven key development sites to date, including the newly launched St Mary’s Chase in Stanton-under-Bardon, as well as sites in Shepshed, Anstey, Rearsby, Markfield and Cotgrave.
The sites an integral part of our national growth strategy, as we work towards our target of delivering over 2,000 homes annually by 2028. Our growing pipeline includes a balanced mix of open market and affordable housing, designed to meet local demand and support long-term regional development.
Karl said: “I’m really excited to be stepping into this new role leading Allison Homes in the East Midlands. We’ve built a great team and having our new office in Castle Donington puts us exactly where we need to be. We’re committed to delivering high-quality homes, building trust in the region, and growing in the right way. With strong land acquisitions already in place and several sites moving forward, we’ve got a solid foundation to scale up and make a real difference in this high-demand market.”
John Anderson, Chief Executive of Allison Homes, added: “Karl’s deep operational experience and leadership have played a huge part in building our presence in the East Midlands so quickly. I have every confidence in his ability to take the business forward and continue making a real impact in the region. Seeing what Karl and his team have achieved so far makes me genuinely excited for the next chapter for Allison Homes in the East Midlands.”
With the Castle Donington office now fully operational and a strong pipeline of developments secured, our East Midlands team is well-placed to continue its momentum, delivering much-needed homes, creating local employment opportunities, and working closely with communities to leave a lasting positive legacy.
